The troops of India and China are engaged into border standoff at multiple locations in the eastern Ladakh since May last year.

CORPAT builds up understanding and interoperability between navies and facilitates the institution of measures to prevent and suppress unlawful activities like Illegal Unreported Unregulated fishing, drug trafficking, maritime terrorism, armed robbery and piracy.

As per the sources in the Indian Army, a total of 15 women officers had applied for the pilot course. However, only two managed to clear the test and medical assessment.

By taking its chances in Ladakh against India, without thinking through the strategy and its end game, China has actually given India a better understanding of its own long term threat perceptions, says Lt Gen Syed Ata Hasnain (Retd).

From a strategic perspective, the move would help in reducing import dependence. It would ensure greater self-reliance and dependability of supplies from indigenous sources.
