The Indian Army has set a record at the prestigious Cambrian Patrol Exercise at Brecon in the United Kingdom’s Wales by winning a gold medal. 

This was Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari's maiden visit after taking over as the IAF chief earlier this month.

In the 17th edition of exercise between the two countries, Indian Army Commanding Officer Colonel Reddy and his US counterpart speak about gaining rich experience from each other and imbibing a lot of lessons in the high-altitude snow-clad mountains in Alaska.

Indian Army chief Gen MM Naravane and Sri Lankan Chief of Defence Staff Gen Shavendra Silva witnessed the culmination exercise Mitra Shakti between the troops of two countries at Maduru Oya Special Forces Training School in Sri Lanka.  

Madras Regiment, which is one of the oldest regiments of the Indian Army, conducted pre-induction training before leaving for the joint annual military exercise 'Yudh Abhyas' with the US Army, which is scheduled to take place in Alaska from October 15.

The Union Home Ministry's decision to increase the area of responsibility for the Border Security Force from 15 km to 50 km in the states of Punjab, Rajasthan and West Bengal bordering with Pakistan and Bangladesh, has snowballed into a major controversy. 

Located in West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh, the Sela Tunnel will reduce travel time and provides all weather connectivity to Tawang.

During the annual exercise, troops from both countries will learn each other's skills of war fighting. 

The recent killing of non-Muslims in Kashmir Valley has once again drawn attention to desperate attempts being made by Pakistan to try and destabilise Jammu & Kashmir and deny 'Naya Kashmir' at all cost, experts have observed.

During his stay, Gen Naravane will witness the ongoing bilateral military exercise Mitra Shakti that would be culminating on October 15.
