Intercontinental ballistic missiles are systems that can carry nuclear warheads at a range of over 5,500km. Currently, there are five countries that have land-based ICBMs.

According to a defence source, the test was carried out to validate new technologies and equipment on the missile which is now lighter than before.
"The selection process for the Garud commandos is very stringent. We are now into the selection process. Before becoming the commando, the selected women officers will have to undergo probation process," an official told Asianet News Network.

Several fighter aircraft, transport aircraft, helicopters and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) will participate in the 2-day exercise, scheduled to take place in Assam and West Bengal.
