Rajkummar Rao Begins Shooting for Sourav Ganguly Biopic ‘Dada’; Shares FIRST Glimpse

Back in 2025, Rajkummar Rao confirmed that he would essay the role of Sourav Ganguly after the former cricketer himself revealed the casting.

In an interview, the actor admitted feeling both excited and nervous about the responsibility. He acknowledged the challenge of portraying such a legendary figure, while also expressing enthusiasm for the journey.

The film is expected to trace Ganguly’s rise, leadership, and transformation of Indian cricket, making it one of the most anticipated sports biopics in recent times.

Apart from ‘Dada’, Rajkummar Rao has a packed slate. His quirky comedy Toaster, co-starring Sanya Malhotra, is set to release on Netflix on April 14. Directed by Vivek Das Chaudhary and produced by Patralekhaa, the film promises an unconventional storyline.

He has also announced Raftaar, starring Keerthy Suresh, which is scheduled for a theatrical release on July 24. Directed by Aditya Nimbalkar, the film explores themes of ambition and greed, adding another intriguing project to his lineup.
