Director Nitesh Tiwari has assembled a powerful ensemble to reimagine the Ramayana on a grand cinematic scale.

Ranbir Kapoor leads the film as Lord Ram, while Sai Pallavi portrays Sita. Yash takes on the role of Ravana, bringing intensity to the antagonist.

The supporting cast adds further depth, including Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman. Veterans like Lara Dutta, Arun Govil, and Amitabh Bachchan (as Jatayu/narrator) further strengthen the narrative.

Other notable names include Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Vivek Oberoi, and Kunal Kapoor, making it a truly pan-Indian ensemble.

Produced by Namit Malhotra along with Yash, Ramayana is envisioned as a two-part cinematic spectacle. The combined budget is estimated at around Rs 4,000 crore, placing it among the most expensive film franchises ever made.

The film relies heavily on advanced VFX, with elaborate sets built in Mumbai studios and additional shoots in London. The scale reflects a strong push toward global storytelling standards.

Music is another highlight, with Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer collaborating with A. R. Rahman—a rare and powerful combination that adds international appeal to the project.

The first installment of Ramayana is scheduled for a worldwide release on Diwali 2026, while the second part is expected in 2027. The timing aligns with a festive window, maximizing audience reach.

In terms of remuneration, Ranbir Kapoor is reportedly the highest-paid actor, earning around Rs 150 crore for the franchise. Yash, who is also a co-producer, is said to be charging approximately Rs 100 crore.

With its scale, casting, and emotional connect, Ramayana is not just a film—it’s being positioned as a landmark cinematic event that could redefine mythological storytelling in India.
