Muddahanumegowda had filed two nominations - one as a member of Congress and another one as an independent. As the party did not grant him the B-Form, his nomination filed from Congress party has been rejected by the EC.

Out of 362 candidates 337 are men and 25 are women candidates who have filed their nominations for the first phase of polls in the state. Bengaluru North has highest number of candidates with 40 and Hassan has least -13 candidates, in Karnataka.

Sumalatha Manjegowda, who had filed nomination from Mandya on Tuesday will withdraw her nomination today, her husband said.
