Rohit Sharma's dismissal triggered a mini-collapse as India lost three quick wickets in the first session of the Chennai Test against Bangladesh.

Australian legend Ricky Ponting has been appointed as the head coach of Punjab Kings (PBKS) starting from IPL 2025, just over two months after parting ways with Delhi Capitals, where he served as head coach for seven years.

More spinners have been added to the squad for the assignment, given the change in conditions from the UK. Sri Lanka are heading into the series on a high, having denied England a clean sweep after securing an 8-wicket victory in the third and final Test of the series at the Oval. 

Wellalage bagged the award for his all-round performance in the ODI series against Indian men's cricket team. Meanwhile, top order batter Samaracickrama  hit purple patch in Sri Lankan women's team's tour of Ireland.
