It was a tough day at office for the Indian batsmen as they struggled against New Zealand on the opening day of the first Test in Wellington on Friday (February 21). India ended the day at 122/5 with Ajinkya Rahane top-scoring with 38 not out. The next best was opener Mayank Agarwal's 34. For the hosts, Six-foot eight-inch debutant paceman Kyle Jamieson took three wickets for 38 runs in 14 overs. The entire final session was a non-starter due to heavy downpour. Earlier, India picked Rishabh Pant ahead of Wriddhiman Saha. Ravichandran Ashwin is the lone spinner. Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah are the pacemen. New Zealand won the toss and chose to field first.
