Parts of Bhandup and Mulund within the civic limits of Mumbai, neighbouring Thane city and pockets of Navi Mumbai had to face power cuts following the tripping of the 400 kV Talegaon-Kharghar line, which is one of the most critical line feeding power to both the metropolitan region and Mumbai, authorities said.

As India surpassed China to become the world's most populous nation on Wednesday, many believe it is becoming increasingly difficult to maintain a balance between the rising population and the available resources.

The five-foot-tall idol will be carved by Arun Yogiraj, a noted sculptor from Mysuru. At its two-day meeting which concluded in Ayodhya late Tuesday evening, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust finalised the specifications of the idol.

The researchers hope that by resurrecting the species, conservation funding will be used to help protect the area's threatened wetlands. These habitats are highly biodiverse and provide important overwintering sites for migrating birds, they said.

According to Chairman Jagadesh Kumar, higher education institutions play an important role in preparing textbooks and supporting the teaching-learning process in the mother tongue/local languages.

"The NCP is a party which betrays. We will not be with the NCP even in power. If the BJP takes NCP with them, Maharashtra will not like it. We decided to move out (of the earlier undivided Shiv Sena led by Uddhav Thackeray) because people didn't like us going with the Congress and NCP," Shiv Sena spokesperson Sanjay Shirsat said.

"It wasn't a bookie who approached Siraj. It is a driver from Hyderabad who is addicted to betting on matches. He had lost huge money and approached Siraj for inside information," a senior BCCI source privy to the developments told PTI on condition of anonymity.

According to government sources, the quartet of nations comprising the United States, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia have a vital role and are being engaged with accordingly. 

"We are not interested in such people. We are interested in strengthening the booth. West Bengal BJP is now self-sustained. We do not need to bring in any leader, especially those who have been rejected," Suvendu told media persons when asked about Mukul Roy.

"It's quite exciting to play with Arjun. Life has come a full circle," Rohit Sharma, who shared the Indian and MI dressing room with his father -- the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, said at the presentation ceremony.
