WWE is a business where one bad night can cost everything. While wrestlers have had legendary careers built on great performances, some have lost their jobs instantly due to a single match. Whether it was poor in-ring execution, backstage politics, or creative dissatisfaction, these matches turned out to be the last straw for some wrestlers.

Eugene

WWE brought back the Eugene character after a brief break in 2009. His first match was with The Miz for the superstar contract match. However, the performance of Eugene didn't impress Vince McMahon. The WWE boss was furious with the weight gain of the wrestler and due to this, he was eventually let go.

Mr Kennedy

Mr Kennedy became a popular wrestler in the early turn of this century. However, his consistent injuries resulted in a longer absence from TV. In 2009, WWE brought back the wrestler and put him instantly in a main-event match. In the game, Mr Kennedy performed a move that Randy Orton didn't like. He termed the wrestler unsafe and complained to the management. Back-and-forth between Orton and Kennedy led to the latter's firing.

Kurt Angle

After a match against Sabu, Kurt Angle felt that he needed a break from pro wrestling. The consistent injuries weren't letting him perform for longer. This is why, the Olympic gold medalist went to Vince McMahon and requested release from the company. Kurt Angle was granted his request and WWE fans missed the performer for quite some time.

Bryan Clark

In the 2001 tag team match against Undertaker and Kane, Bryan Clark and his teammate put up an atrocious performance. Such a performance even baffled the Undertaker. The Bryan duo were sent to training by the WWE but Bryan Clark refused to follow orders. This resulted in the firing of the wrestler.

Braun Strowman

Strowman was released by the WWE right after the trip threat match with Bobby Lashley and Drew MacIntyre at the 2021 Backlash. Despite a fine performance, the Monster among men was let go. Fans were baffled to hear their favorite star was fired. Later, it was known that WWE did so as part of their cost-saving measures due to the COVID-19 impact.
