Country's first elephant memorial opens in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura

 The country's first memorial for elephants, which died as harness or as  victims of human brutalities, was opened on the Agra-Mathura highway in Uttar Pradesh

Mathura: India's first elephant memorial has been opened in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura. The memorial was opened in remembrance of elephants that lost their lives due to human brutalities. The first-of-its-kind memorial was established by a Mathura-based wildlife conservation centre. Engraved on stones in the memorial are names and information of the elephants that passed away in the conservation centre.
