Kannada actress Ranya Rao was arrested on March 4, at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru for allegedly attempting to smuggle 14.8 kg of gold. She was accompanied by her husband, Jatin Hukkeri, an architect; the couple married in November 2024. Ranya Rao, originally from Chikkamagaluru, Karnataka, debuted in the 2014 Kannada film 'Maanikya' and has since appeared in Tamil and Kannada cinema.
