Telecom company Vodafone Idea's stock saw a surge on Tuesday, April 1. The stock is trading with a 10% upper circuit as of 10:30 AM. The biggest question for investors is whether to buy, sell, or hold the stock.

Jio launches a new ₹75 recharge plan offering unlimited calling, data, and messages for Jio phone users. This plan provides 100 MB daily high-speed data plus an extra 200 MB, valid for 23 days.

Vodafone Idea is set to launch its 5G service in 17 cities, including Delhi and Mumbai, by March next year. Despite delays due to debt, recent funding has enabled network upgrades, aiming for 90% 4G coverage by June. This move follows Jio's market dominance, with its 5G user base exceeding 147 million.

Previously, Vodafone Idea had reported an AGR liability of approximately Rs 70,300 crore, including accumulated interest. However, the company's self-assessed AGR liability was significantly lower at Rs 35,400 crore.

Shares of Tata Technologies, SBI Card, Jio Financial, LTIMindtree, and NBCC will be under focus today due to significant news events.

Reliance Jio, Airtel and Vodafone-Idea announced mobile tariff hike last week. The new mobile tariffs for Airtel and Reliance Jio go live today (July 3). Airtel has announced a price hike across prepaid and postpaid plans. The change in tariff plans will go into effect from July 3 across all circles and throughout India.

The government of India owns the numbering space and grants mobile operators the right to use these numbering spaces during their license period. The new Telecom Law also allows for charges on numbers, which are also to as ’telecom identifiers.'

In terms of numbers, telephone subscribers in India rose from 1,185.73 million at the end of November to 1,190.33 million at the end of December, indicating a monthly growth rate of 0.39%.

Reliance Jio suggests a policy and glidepath to migrate customers to 4G and 5G, which will boost the development of 5G use cases. Vodafone-Idea (Vi) also supports the migration effort.
