The Indian Army has launched a transformative Rs 2.1 lakh crore modernization initiative titled the "Decade of Transformation" (2023–2032), aimed at revamping its technological infrastructure across three phases. With a strong focus on AI, robotics, drones, and indigenous innovation, the Army is driving defence tech self-reliance through initiatives like iDEX, Make-I and Make-II projects, CPDS, and industry collaborations.

The Council of Ministers, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, convened to discuss the vision document for Viksit Bharat 2047 and a detailed action plan for the next five years. They formulated a 100-day agenda for immediate implementation post the formation of the new government in May 2024
