NBA: With the pro basketball league’s season winding down, these five probable playoff teams could be headed toward major roster shakeups in 2025.

NBA: Being on the verge of playoffs is a sign of success, but for some teams, it’s also a reminder that their current roster might not be good enough to win a championship. Whether it’s due to aging stars, failed trades, or locker room instability, some teams will have no choice but to rethink their strategy heading into 2025. With potential offseason shakeups looming, these five playoff contenders might soon tear it down and start fresh.

#5 LA Clippers

LA Clippers had a good start to this season and as a result of that are still in the conversation of the playoffs. But as the season has progressed the team has lost its touch. A few trades here and there didn't improve the team. The Clippers also have one of the worst three-point shooting records in the NBA. Looking at the way things are going, the front office will move to rebuild after the season.

#4 Phoenix Suns

Despite having a strong trio in Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal, the Phoenix Suns have failed to impress. Reports suggest that the Suns after this season will move away from the trio experimentation by parting ways with Durant and Bradley. They are looking to build a young core in 2025.

#3 Sacramento Kings

The Sacramento Kings were decent enough but being merely decent doesn't win you championships. Which is why D Aron Fox wanted to move away from the franchise. The LaVine trade has not worked the way the Kings wanted. Come post-season, the front office will be busy readjusting their squad.

#2 Philadelphia 76ers

Philadelphia 76ers had a positive trade window recently after acquiring Quentin Grimes and Jared Butler. Even the rise of Tyrese Maxey is a sign of better things to come. However, despite fine young players, the Philadelphia 76ers are sitting at 11th in the East division because of the lack of fitness among senior players. Philadelphia 76ers might look to rebuild by shipping Joel Embiid.

#1 Dallas Mavericks

A lot of things have not gone in the way for the Mavericks this season. The Luka Doncic trade fallout is still left as their season continues to spiral down. With new signing Anthony Davis’ lack of fitness and the ACL tear of Kyrie Irving, the Mavericks have no other choice but to set the order of their house right in the off-season and rebuild for the coming years.
