MI vs SRH, IPL 2025 highlights: Mumbai Indians clinch 4-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in team effort

Hardik Pandya: I think the way we bowled today was very smart and spot on. We stuck to simple basic plans. Certain balls were not easy to hit. Credit to the bowlers that we made them hit some good shots. We were kind of squeezing them. If u look at it, had a nice green grass look to it. The first couple of overs that Deepak bowled, couple of balls got stuck in. We decided to use change of pace balls. As soon as we figured out, we trying to mixing it up. We executed the yorkers very smartly. That is the beauty of Jacks. He can be a gun fielder. Bowl those gun overs. Today it came off for him.

Ryan Rickelton: Wouldn't say 30 is too many runs, but nice to contribute. Still itching for a big score. Wasn't the easiest wicket tonight, but we adjusted well with the ball and obviously happy to get over the line. It's extremely difficult (coming from SA and adapting to these pitch conditions). I have the foundations and bit of knowledge being around such a great group of guys. It's just about trying to work those little things in my game. There's some things tonight that I discovered which I need to try and chat to the necessary players. Still a work in progress. If I can keep growing my game, it's only going to bode well in the future. Definitely helped we were batting second. That's the nature of T20 cricket. It's difficult to judge and assess what is a good score and commit to it. 

Pat Cummins: It wasn't the easiest wicket. Few runs short, we would have liked a couple more with the bat. Tricky wicket, when you come here you expect it to be really fluent and fast, just wasn't that. They bowled really well, shut down a lot of our hitting areas. I thought we had all our bases covered, with 160 you feel like you are a little bit short. We gave it a good crack with the ball. We thought we needed wickets, we had plenty of death bowling, we knew the impact player would bowl 1-2 overs that's why we went with Rahul. You have got to play well away from home to make the final, unfortunately it hasn't clicked so far this season, we have a short break and we go again. Every game we talk about assessing, the boys did well to get through the powerplay and there wasn't reckless hitting, next game is at home and we know that venue pretty well.

Mumbai Indians secured third win of the season with a 4-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad. Will Jacks was the top-scorer with 36 off 26 balls, while Ryan Rickelton scored 31 off 23 balls. Rohit Sharma (26), Suryakumar Yadav (26), Tilak Varma (21*), and Hardik Pandya (21) made vital contributions to the team's run-chase. For SRH, Pat Cummins led the bowling attack with three wickets, while Eshan Malinga picked two scalps.

Needing just 1 run off 18 balls to win, Mumbai Indians lost two wickets of Hardik Pandya (21) and Naman Dhir (0), dismissed by Eshan Malinga. MI need 1 run off 14 balls to win.

WICKET! That was a wide delivery outside off stump from Pat Cummins. Will Jacks (36) tried to hit it hard but couldn't keep the ball down. Zeeshan Ansari stayed low and took a good catch. Jacks was aiming to hit it over mid-off, just like Suryakumar Yadav did earlier, but failed just like him. MI need 26 off 30 balls to win.

WICKET! Pat Cummins bowled a short ball that got stuck in the pitch. Suryakumar Yadav (26) tried to hit it over mid-off but couldn’t time it well. The ball hit high on his bat, went up in the air, and Zeeshan Ansari at mid-off took a simple catch. MI need 41 off 42 balls to win.

Tilak Varma joined Will Jacks at the crease.

After the wicket of Ryan Rickelton, Suryakumar Yadav joined Will Jacks at the crease and the pair anchored the Mumbai Indians' run-chase. They smashed 47 runs together in the last five overs of the MI's chase. MI need 46 off 42 balls to win.

WICKET! After getting a lifeline for an error by SRH's wicketkeeper Heinrich Klaasen, Ryan Rickelton did not stay for long as he was removed by Harshal Patel. Harshal rolled his fingers on the ball and bowled it very wide. Rickelton (31) went after it and got an edge. The ball went high in the air, and Head at point moved under it and caught it. No luck for Rickelton this time. MI need 93 off 72 balls to win.

Suryakumar Yadav joined Will Jacks at the crease.

Ryan Rickelton was dismissed by Zeeshan Ansari, but the The fourth umpire created a bit of drama. He stopped the play late and called it a no-ball. Klaasen’s gloves were in front of the stumps when the ball touched them. It was a bit careless from the keeper, and that made it a no-ball. Rickelton stays at the crease and now has a free hit to face. MI need 104 off 78 balls to win.

WICKET! Pat Cummins bowls a delivery outside off. Rohit Sharma (26) drives it cleanly with the perfect timing, but the ball goes in the air and Travis Head catches it easily without having to move. MI need 131 runs off 96 balls to win.

SIX! Mohammed Shami bowls a short ball outside off stump. Rohit Sharma moves across the stumps early, tries to hit it to the leg side, and somehow manages to get away with a maximum as the ball hits the cushion of the boundary. MI need 138 off 102 balls to win.

Will Jacks: Pretty happy. Three lefties in the top, so knew I had a chance to bowl. Definitely some turn. Some grip for the seamers. Sunrises saw us bowl, will do the same thing. We need to be smart and chase the score down. We had a clear plan. I was informed yesterday, I will be bowling. The coach and the captain gave me the confidence. So, I kept going. I think we are happy with the target. We saw it was difficult at the top. Hopefully, we will see it off at the top, take it deep and chase it down.

Mumbai Indians need 163 runs to win after Sunrisers Hyderabad posted a total of 162/5. MI are aiming for the 3rd win of the season and 2nd at home.

WICKET! Klaasen (36) missed a full toss, just like many do against Bumrah. His full tosses are hard to hit because they bounce a bit and come in quickly at an angle. Klaasen tried to make space to hit it through the off side, but the ball just missed his bat.

WICKET! Trent Boult bowls a very full delivery on middle stump, but it’s not quite a yorker. Nitish (19) tries to hit it hard into the leg side with a helicopter shot, but doesn't connect well. The ball goes straight up in the air and lands safely in the hands of Tilak Varma, who takes a comfortable catch inside the boundary.

Aniket Verma joined Heinrich Klaasen at the crease.

After fall of three quick wickets, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Heinrich Klaasen steadied Sunrisers Hyderabad's ship as duo took the visitors past the 100-run mark in the 15th over.

WICKET! Jacks bowled this really well. He noticed Kishan (2) stepping out, so he threw the ball wider outside off. The ball spun away, which fooled Kishan. He missed his shot, and Rickelton quickly finished the stumping.
