Chintakayala Vijay, who has been a loyal and consistent organisational worker for the past 15 years, will get his formal entry into national politics if this move is confirmed.
The political journey of Chintakalaya Vijay is about to take a positive and significant turn. A Backwards Classes (BC) leader from the Uttara Andhra region, Chintakayala Vijay, has been considered for a Rajya Sabha berth in June 2026 by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

Chintakayala Vijay, who has been a loyal and consistent organisational worker for the past 15 years, will get his formal entry into national politics if this move is confirmed. And this big move comes directly as a result of the unwavering services that he has offered to the party. His resume for the party is impressive, as he has stood firmly with the TDP through its ups and downs.
His attempt at earning a national ticket has come before as well. He tried out for a Lok Sabha ticket in the 2014, 2019, and 2024 general elections. Unfortunately, he had missed out on a ticket all three times. Despite the setback, his commitment to the party never wavered. Neither did this experience change Vijay’s approach to his work for the party. He did not protest. In fact, he continued to work quietly on the ground. His work even helped strengthen the structure of the TDP, specifically in Uttar Andhra.
This consistent effort and organisational discipline, however, did not go unnoticed. TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu and party general secretary Nara Lokesh, according to multiple sources, have observed this consistent contribution and have agreed that this long-term loyalty should be rewarded. They believe that it is important for maintaining cadre morale during this transitional period of the party as it is expanding its national and social outreach.
However, not just as a reward for hard work and consistent effort, Chintakayala Vijay’s elevation is also expected to be beneficial from a strategic standpoint. As a BC representative of the TDP, his presence in the Rajya Sabha offers increased visibility of the backward classes at a national level. Not only that, but Vijay’s nomination also adds a strong voice for Uttar Andhra. As this region has been historically under-represented in the Rajya Sabha, this could be a great step forward.
Insiders at the TDP believe that this move aligns with the party’s broader objective to strike the right balance between social representation and the projection of experienced organisational leaders into the national spotlight.
Finally, while it is true that there has been no official announcement, internal deliberations have suggested that Viay’s name is among the 2026 Rajya Sabha election frontrunners. Thus, if the decision materialises, after decades, Vijay’s efforts at the grassroots level will finally be recognized. However, more than a personal milestone, it will also send a message from the TDP that loyalty and perseverance are crucial to politics.
As the June 2026 elections draw closer, everyone will be looking at the final list released by the TDP. And for many, Chintakayala Vijay’s elevation represents hope that sustained commitment will eventually bear fruit.
