synopsis

With time the celebrations have changed, but back in the days it was all about buying the best bands for our friends.

We spoke to TV Celebs and asked them about their best memories of this day!

"

Subtitles for Gunjan Utreja: So, I grew up in Chandigarh with my buddies – Pankaj, Gaurav, and Krish. I remember that one night we watched the movie ‘Rock On’ and got so excited that we decided to leave for Shimla. Little did we realise that none of us had enough money to even book a hotel there. Forget hotel, we didn’t even had enough money to fill petrol in the car. We had to borrow money from strangers to fill up petrol and come back to Chandigarh.

Well just like our TV celebs, all of us have a beautiful memory attached to Friendship day which makes it even more special.

"

It was first proposed to be marked on July 30, 1958 in Paraguay. Then, almost five decades later, the United Nations General Assembly on April 27, 2011 declared July 30 as International Friendship Day. In India, the day is observed on the first Sunday of August.
