For tomorrow, a yellow alert has been issued for Kannur and Kasaragod districts.

Yesterday, several districts saw heavy evening showers. But this welcome rain also brought with it some tragedy. The strong winds and lightning caused accidents and damage in many places. Two deaths have been reported, turning the happy news of rain into a sad one for some.

In Kollam, a 37-year-old worker named Saritha died in a heartbreaking incident. An oil palm tree fell on her during the heavy rain at the Chithara Oil Palm Estate, where she was working on a contract basis to clear the undergrowth.

In another tragic case in Chengannur, a young man named Asif Ashraf lost his life after being struck by lightning. He was playing football with his friends at the Puthenkavu church ground when the lightning hit. He was rushed to the hospital, but doctors couldn't save him. What makes it even sadder is that Asif was scheduled to fly back abroad next month.
