It can be seen that the NDPP, led by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, has been in an alliance with the BJP since the last elections in 2018. The alliance had won 30 seats in the previous elections while NPF won 26.

In a landmark judgement, the Supreme Court on Thursday ruled that the appointment of the CEC and ECs will be done by the President on the advise of a committee comprising the PM, LoP in the Lok Sabha, and the CJI.

A bench led by CJI DY Chandrachud appointed the following persons as members of the committee: OP Bhatt, Justice KP Devdatt, KV Kamat, Nandan Nilekani and Somasekhar Sundaresan.

The expert committee comprising OP Bhat, retired Justice JP Devdatt, Nandan Nilekani, KV Kamath and Somasekharan Sundaresan to review the regulatory framework. 

Tripura Election 2023: The ruling BJP has won for the second time in Tripura after it secured 32 seats, in alliance with the Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT). The Congress has secured victory in 3 seats and its ally, CPI(M), has won in 11 seats.

"This election proved that Mamata Banerjee is not invincible. She can be defeated, Congress leader," Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ernest Mawrie predicted on Wednesday that his party would take home 10 to 15 seats in that state before the results of the elections in three Northeastern states were announced.

Prime Minister Modi said, "You are meeting at a time of deep global divisions. As Foreign Ministers, it is but natural that your discussions are affected by the geopolitical tensions of the day. We all have our positions and our perspectives on how these tensions should be resolved."

The Meghalaya Assembly Elections 2023 results will be announced on March 2 after the counting of votes starts at 8 am. Four major parties-- BJP, Congress, ruling NPP and TMC --are battling for power in the state.

Nagaland Assembly Election 2023: The counting for Nagaland Assembly Elections 2023 is underway. Voting took place at 59 out of 60 Assembly seats in the state on February 27 with an overall voter turnout of 83.63 percent.
