K Kavitha launched her new political outfit, Telangana Rashtra Sena (TRS), awaiting ECI confirmation. She slammed her former party BRS and the ruling Congress, stating they failed to fulfil the aspirations of youth and farmers in Telangana.
K Kavitha, who launched Telangana Rashtra Sena (TRS) on Saturday, said that the new political outfit awaits confirmation from the Election Commission of India. Slamming her former party, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and the ruling party Congress, K Kavitha said that the aspirations of the youth and farmers were not fulfilled. She asserted that the newly launched TRS will work for the 50 per cent reservation for Backward Class Communities (OBCs).

TRS to focus on regional issues, OBC reservation
Kavitha told ANI, "We have launched our party today. The party will be called TRS. The name will be on the lines of Telangana Rashtra Sena. We have applied to the Election Commission. We are awaiting the last-minute confirmation, but we hope that Telangana Rashtra Sena will be the final name. We have worked for this name for our lifetime. 20 years of our blood and sweat have gone into making TRS a successful party. We have achieved the state of Telangana." "Unfortunately, after things took a wrong turn, the aspirations of the people of Telangana, the aspirations of the youth of Telangana, were never fulfilled. The aspirations of the farmers of Telangana were never fulfilled. Neither in the BRS's 10 years nor in the two years of Congress. So we will continuously work towards fulfilling these aspirations. TRS will be fundamentally a regional party. It will be focused 95 per cent on the regional issues. One of the core issues that I will fight for is the OBC 50 per cent reservation," she added.
Background: Kavitha's exit from BRS
Earlier today, former Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader K Kavitha launched her new political party, Telangana Rashtra Sena (TRS), nearly seven months after parting ways with the BRS. Holding a launch event in Hyderabad, K Kavitha announced that her party will be called TRS. Interestingly, her father and former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had also launched Telangana Rashtra Samithi- 'TRS', before renaming the party to Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).
Kavitha had exited from the BRS following her suspension from the party in September 2025 for alleged "anti-party activities." She was suspended after her remarks against BRS leaders T Harish Rao and J Santosh Rao. Following her suspension, she lashed out at Harish Rao and Santosh Rao, accusing them of "planning to destroy our family and party" in connivance with Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. She also tendered her resignation as an MLC.
K Kavitha had formed an NGO, Telangana Jagruthi. (ANI)
