Delhi BJP President Virendraa Sachdeva, along with BJP MPs Manoj Tiwari, Bansuri Swaraj, and other senior leaders, gathered at the party headquarters in Delhi on Saturday to celebrate their resounding victory in the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections. 

Voting was conducted across all 70 assembly constituencies in a single phase on February 5. This election has been marked by high voter turnout and spirited campaigning from all major parties.

"This is the victory of PM Modi's leadership, development and trust. The people of Delhi have expressed their faith in PM Modi's vision of development... We always used to talk about corruption in the Jal Board, Sheeshmahal, liquor scam, dirty water but they (AAP) never gave us an answer. Arvind Kejriwal always ran away from these issues... The people have ousted them from power," said Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva.

Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal launched a scathing attack on AAP and its leadership on Saturday, stating that those who commit crimes against women are eventually punished.

In a veiled reference to the alleged assault by Kejriwal’s aide Bibhav Kumar, Maliwal remarked, “If history has shown anything, it’s that those who wrong women face divine justice.”

Taking direct aim at Kejriwal, she added, “Even Ravan’s pride was shattered, and he was mighty. This is just Kejriwal.”

Maliwal attributed AAP’s electoral downfall to Delhi’s worsening pollution, poor infrastructure, and lack of basic amenities, claiming, “People can’t be fooled forever.”

AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal faced a major setback in the New Delhi constituency, losing to BJP candidate Parvesh Verma by 1,170 votes, with Verma securing 19,267 votes to Kejriwal’s 18,097. Current trends showed the BJP leading in 45 out of 70 seats, signaling a strong performance and potentially ending AAP's decade-long dominance in Delhi.

Aam Aadmi Party candidate from Jangpura and former deputy chief minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia lost his assembly seat to BJP's Tarvinder Singh Marwah by 600 votes.

Based on the latest trends in Delhi assembly election results, BJP has secured leads in 47 constituencies, surpassing the required 36-seat threshold for forming the government. AAP follows with leads in 23 seats, whilst Congress is yet to establish a presence.
