In a press conference, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi stated that there is no democracy in India today and that four people rule our country. When asked about the questioning of Congress President Sonia Gandhi and him by the Enforcement Directorate in the National Herald case, he said, "You can question everything you want, but there is nothing there, and everyone knows it. My job is to oppose the RSS concept, and the more I do, the more I will be attacked. Attack me, I'm happy," he added.
Gandhi stated that the government could 'keep scaring' them, but it would make no difference.
"They attack the Gandhi family because we fight for an ideology, and there are crores of people like us," he said in response to another question. We have been fighting for democracy and communal harmony for many years. Only I didn't do it. This has been going on for years, and my family members have given their lives for it," he said, adding that it is "our responsibility."
In response to Rahul Gandhi's allegations, BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad stated that the Congress leader is uninterested in politics and urged him not to blame institutions. "Stop demeaning the institution to save yourself," Prasad said to Rahul Gandhi.
To prevent Congress leaders from protesting, Delhi Police have placed barricades at the entrance to the Indian Youth Congress office near Parliament House. The Delhi Police and paramilitary forces have been deployed at the entrance.
Ahead of today's protest by Congress workers in Delhi, Delhi Police informed party MP KC Venugopal that section 144 had been imposed in Delhi, except in the Jantar Mantar area. It also stated that those who violate it would face severe consequences.
