<p>After reporting a record spike of more than 1 lakh new Covid-19 cases, India reported 96,982 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, according to Union Health Ministry data on Tuesday.</p>

<p>The new coronavirus infections pushed the nationwide tally to 1,26,86,049. The death toll increased to 1,65,547 with 446 daily new fatalities.</p>
