Coronavirus: India reports 26,727 new COVID-19 cases; over 89 crore vaccine doses administered
India on Friday reported 26,727 new Covid-19 cases and 277 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to Health Ministry's data.

India reported 26,727 new Covid-19 cases and 277 fatalities in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative Covid-19 tally in the country to 3,37,66,707 and death toll to 4,48,339, according to the Union Health Ministry data on Friday.
The active cases declined further by 1,796 in the last 24 hours, taking the country's active case load to 2,752,24, the ministry data showed. The active cases comprise 0.82% of the total infections, the lowest since March 2020.
Meanwhile, 28,246 more people recuperated from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, pushing the total recoveries in the country to 33,043,144. The national Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 97.86%, the highest since March 2020.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research data, 15,20,899 tests were conducted on Thursday, taking the total cumulative tests conducted so far for detection of Covid-19 in the country to 57,04,77,338.
Nearly 89 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far, under the nationwide Covid-19 vaccination drive.
