When it comes to football, it is mainly about the players, while the top ones tend to earn huge bucks. However, the manages, too, hold an equally important place in the sport.

Some of the managers, especially the highly successful ones, too, draw top bucks. While they might not be as expensive as the players, they are still remarkable, as we take a look at five of the world's most expensive football managers.

Zinedine Zidane
The current Real Madrid manager, Zidane, is one of the rare football managers who was highly successful as a player. As a manager, his achievements are commendable, having won 11 titles to date with Los Blancos, with many more reckoning. As a result, it is natural for him to draw big bucks and reportedly earns around €12 million per year. Current Guangzhou manager Fabio Cannavaro, too, makes the same.

Rafa Benitez
Another famous manager who led Liverpool to UEFA Champions League and attained success with numerous other clubs, Rafa Benitez is immensely renowned worldwide. Although he has not won any title since the 2012-13 UEFA Europa League win with Chelsea, he is still one of the world's top managers and draws €13.5 million per year.

Diego Simeone
He is the reigning manager of Spanish giant Atletico Madrid, having led the side to eight titles. As he continues to make Atletico a prominent force in world football, he has made a name for himself and draws big at the club, which reportedly happens to be €15 million per year. With Atletico currently in contention for the La Liga title, winning the same would make Simeone even richer.

Jose Mourinho
The Portuguese manager was a force to reckon with a few years back, having won twin UCL titles. Although his performance has taken a toll in the past few years, his legacy makes him a top draw among managers. Currently, he manages English giant Tottenham Hotspur and is yet to win a title, while he draws the second-most among all, with pay of €17.5 million.

Pep Guardiola
For the top spot, it is none other than one of the immensely successful managers in the world, Pep Guardiola. The Spanish manager is currently associated with English giant Manchester City, having made a force in England. Although he is yet to attain European glory with it, he has a legacy with Barcelona (two UCL titles) and Bayern Munich. Naturally, he earns enormous, with a supposed pay of €23 million per year.
