EPL 2020-21, Matchday 30 review: West Bromwich Albion stuns Chelsea, Liverpool outclasses Arsenal

The English Premier League 2020-21 saw Match 30 coming to an end. While the title race is still open, Manchester City is the firm favourite to lift it, though. Also, defending champion Liverpool is unwilling to give up soon, as it has its hopes alive for a European spot. Ten-man Chelsea stunned by West Brom
The opening game of the matchday saw Chelsea suffer its first loss under Thomas Tuchel. Played at Stamford Bridge, The Blues was the absolute favourite to win it. However, the Baggies produced a stunning display of gameplay, aided by Thiago Silva's red card as it annihilated Chelsea 5-2. As a result, The Blues has dropped to fifth, while West Brom remains in the relegation zone.

Tottenham Hotspur held by Newcastle United
Tottenham's inconsistent season continued as it was held to a 2-2 draw against 17th-placed Newcastle in an away encounter. Although Harry Kane scored a brace, it was not enough to see the Spurs grab the three points. While Tottenham has risen to the sixth spot, it would too fight for a European place in the remaining games.

Manchester United escapes past Brighton and Hove Albion
United survived a scare against 16th-placed Brighton at Old Trafford that put itself ahead initially in the game, thanks to a strike from former United star Danny Welbeck. However, Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood's strikes in the second half allowed it to script yet another comeback and stay in the second spot, 14 points behind leader City.

Everton frustratingly held by Crystal Palace
Everton, too, is having a great season. While it hosted 12th-placed Crystal Palace and was a favourite to win it, following James Rodriguez's opening strike in the 56th minute, the Eagles levelled it in the 86th minute to frustrate the Toffees, as the latter stays on the eighth.

City has it easy against Leicester
City continued its unstoppable reign this season as it breezed past third-placed Leicester City 2-0 in an away encounter. Benjamin Mendy and Gabriel Jesus's strikes sealed the deal, as the Citizens is now just 11 points away from the title.

Arsenal outclassed by Liverpool
Arsenal's miserable season continued as it succumbed to an embarrassing 0-3 defeat at the hands of defending champion Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium. While The Reds has kept its top-four hopes alive, the Gunners is in serious doubt of a European spot as it plunges back to the tenth spot.
