EPL 2020-21 review: Manchester United dominates Manchester City to headline Matchday 27

The English Premier League 2020-21 yet again produced an exciting weekend, as Matchday 27 was no short of surprises. With the Manchester Derby headlining the weekend, defending champion Liverpool's miseries took another toll as we review the entire matchday involving the top teams.

Arsenal held by Burnley in a tough encounter
In what should have been an easy outing for Arsenal, the game turned out to be shockingly harsh for it, as it was held 1-1 by 15th-placed Burnley. Although the Gunners scored the opener in the sixth minute via Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, the Clarets levelled back at 39 through Chris Wood. Burnley rode on the home advantage and maintained the score, as Arsenal's bid for a European spot still looks in jeopardy.

Leicester barely makes it past Brighton
Leicester City travelled to Brighton and Hove Albion in what should have been an easy ride for the former. However, The Foxes barely made it out with a 2-1 win. While Leicester maintained its third spot, the Seagulls is placed 17th and is staring at relegation if it fails to win in the coming days.

Tottenham pummels Palace at home
Tottenham Hotspur seems to have found a new mojo, as it extended its winning run to three games after it pummeled 13th-placed Crystal Palace 4-1 at home, thanks to a twin brace from Gareth Bale and Harry Kane. As the Spurs rises to seventh, it would still fancy its chances for the top-four, or at least a European spot.

No stopping for Chelsea against Everton
Chelsea seems to enjoy a good ride under Thomas Tuchel, as the side remains unbeaten under him, extending the run with a 2-0 home win over Everton. While The Blues maintains its fourth spot, the Toffees has dropped to sixth.

Liverpool under serious threat of missing out on top-four
It seems to be getting worst for Liverpool with each passing matchday, especially at home after it slumped to yet another home defeat to relegation-threatened Fulham, 0-1. It happened to be The Reds' sixth consecutive home defeat (club record), as it has slipped to the eighth spot, as it is under a severe threat of missing out on top-four.

Manchester United pulls off a lifetime derby performance
There seemed to be no stopping United, especially away from home, as it dominated table-topper Manchester City 2-0 at Etihad Stadium, thanks to Bruno Fernandes and Luke Shaw. While the Red Devils maintains its second spot with the win, it ended the Citizens' 28-game unbeaten run across competitions. Nonetheless, it is unlikely to affect City's bid for the title unless it begins a streak of failures hereon.
