Varanasi Businessman Killed By Mob After Accident

A shocking case of mob violence has emerged from Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi, where a businessman was beaten to death after his car accidentally hit a woman on Sunday night.

The victim, Manish Singh, was 36 years old. He was returning home from his factory when the incident happened in Ghamhapur village under the Phoolpur police station area.

Police said the attack took place at around 10:30 pm to 11 pm.

Accident Took A Deadly Turn

According to police, Manish's car hit a woman who was either walking or washing utensils near the roadside. She suffered injuries in the collision.

Manish immediately stopped his car and stepped out, reportedly to help the injured woman.

However, the situation quickly turned violent. Local residents and some of the woman's relatives became angry. They allegedly dragged Manish out of his car and attacked him.

He was beaten with sticks, bricks and fists in full public view.

Victim Died During Treatment

Manish suffered severe injuries in the brutal assault. His family rushed him to the trauma centre at Banaras Hindu University.

Doctors tried to save him, but he died during treatment.

Police described the incident as a road accident that escalated into deadly mob violence.

Police Register Murder Case

Deputy Commissioner of Police Neetu Kadyan said a case has been filed based on a complaint by the victim's family.

Police have named eight accused and included seven unidentified people in the FIR.

So far, four suspects have been arrested. Police teams are carrying out raids to catch the remaining accused.

Officials have promised strict action against everyone involved.

Family Refuses Funeral

After Manish's death, his family refused to perform his last rites until all the accused were arrested.

They staged a protest and demanded immediate justice. The incident has sparked anger in the local community.

To prevent any further trouble, heavy police and Provincial Armed Constabulary personnel have been deployed in the area and outside the family's home.

Wife's Emotional Video Goes Viral

A video of Manish's wife has spread widely on social media. In the clip, she is seen crying in front of police officers.

"Hath-pair tod dete, jaan to chhod dete. Meri to poori duniya khatam kar di," she says.

Her words mean, "They could have broken his arms and legs, but they should have spared his life. My whole world has been destroyed."

The video has deeply moved people across the country.

Investigation Underway

Police are examining all aspects of the case. They are also working to identify the unidentified attackers.

Authorities have appealed for peace and assured the family that justice will be delivered.
