Today's weather update

The Alipore Met office reports that there's no major weather change expected for now. All districts in South Bengal will experience dry weather. While the temperature won't change much for the next three days, it will slowly rise by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius after that.

South Bengal's weather

The weather office says there's a light wintery feel in the mornings and evenings, but it gets warmer as the day progresses. In Kolkata and nearby areas, the sky will be mostly clear for the next 24 hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures will hover around 30°C and 19°C, respectively.

No rain, but temperature will rise further

From February 26 to 28, the temperature could slowly climb to the 30-32 degree range. The forecast suggests it might even touch 33 degrees in early March. Meanwhile, most districts in North Bengal will remain dry, but Darjeeling might get some light rain or snowfall.

What will the weather be like across the state?

The weather office confirms there is no more rain in the forecast for the state. The winter chill is disappearing just in time for the festival of colours. Expect a warm Dol and Holi, as temperatures are set to rise with dry weather all around.

When will the temperature start rising?

The temperature will remain the same for the next few days, with a slight chill in the mornings and evenings. But from March 1, the heat is on! South Bengal's weather will change, and temperatures will rise. Skies will be mostly clear, and there's no chance of rain for the next six days. The air will feel sticky due to high humidity.

Kolkata's temperature will rise from the start of March

Today, Kolkata's minimum temperature is 19.6°C and the maximum is 26.8°C. High humidity, between 64% and 97%, will make it feel sticky. In the next 24 hours, the city's temperature will stay between 19°C and 30°C. As March begins, the mercury will climb from 20 to 22 degrees Celsius.

North Bengal's weather

There's no more rain expected up north either. Districts like Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, and Kalimpong will all have dry weather. However, eight districts in North Bengal might see fog on Wednesday, with visibility dropping to between 200 and 999 metres. No major temperature changes are expected for the next seven days.
