<p>Bengaluru: The BJP had taken a lead from the very first round in both RR Nagar and Shira as counting began in the assembly seats with postal ballots on November 10.</p>

<p>Senior BJP leaders and party members including Basavaraj Bommai, R Ashoka and Sriramulu were seen celebrating at Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa’s residence, as Munirathna continues to gain the highest number of votes at RR Nagar. </p>

<p>Munirathna received 6,164 votes in the first round, 28,8675 votes in the fifth round, 55,103 in the tenth round and 78,643 votes in the fifteenth round according to the Bengaluru Bruhat Mahanagara Palike (BBMP and the Election Commission of India (ECI).</p>
