TMC MLA Dipak Haldar resigns from party
TMC MLA of Diamond Harbour Dipak Haldar on Monday (Fenruary 1) resigned from the party. He blamed the party for not allowing him to work for the people.

<p>Haldar, considered to be a close associate of BJP leader Sovan Chatterjee, since his days in the TMC, recently met the latter at his residence in South Kolkata.</p>

<p>Earlier, 17 MLAs of the Trinamool Congress, one TMC MP, three each from the Congress and the CPI(M) and one from CPI have joined the BJP. However, it remains to be seen if Dipak Haldar will join the saffron camp. </p>
