Picture of Salman Khan with Aishwarya Rai returns to storm internet; fans get nostalgic

A few days ago, a vintage picture of Bollywood icons Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai went viral on the internet. From the picture we can easily gather that it is taken from the days when the two stars were allegedly dating. Aishwarya looks beautiful as usual while Salman dominates the boy-next-door look.

Their relationship at the time though was not as simple as the picture. From being madly in love with each other, this once Bollywood couple have now reached a place where they don't even acknowledge each other’s existence.

Stories of their relationship dominated all gossip columns and entertainment magazines. They have remained the talk of Bollywood. Even after their bitter break up, the couple did not fail to garner headlines for years.

In many interviews, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had said that Salman would be suspicious of her always. When she spoke to ToI about their relationship, she said that “After we broke up, he would call me and talk inappropriately. He suspected me of having an affair with my co-stars, from Shah Rukh Khan to Abhishek Bachchan."

Few reports say that Salman Khan had created a scene in front of Aishwarya's Mumbai residence after their breakup. Salman has also admitted to this incident to an extent. In his book 'Being Salman', he had recalled the incident of him going to her apartment on the night of November 2001 in a fit of rage. He also spoke about him banging on her apartment door.

Some reports say that Salman also threatened to jump off the building if Aishwarya Rai didn't open the door. Some reports went the extra step to make it seem all the more dramatic, stating that Salman continued to bang the door till his hand began to bleed, and Aishwarya Rai had to let him in after that.

In an interview, Aishwarya Rai confessed that “Salman had hounded me many times and had caused physical injuries to himself when I refused to attend his calls."

After all these bitter experiences both these Bollywood icons have moved on with their life. while Aishwarya Rai is happily married to Abhishek Bachchan and has a pretty daughter, Salman Khan is rumoured to be dating Lulia Vantur.
