Current form
As for the current form in T20Is, both the teams are coming off a much-needed exposure in the just-concluded Indian Premier League (IPL). In T20Is, the Indians have been in a lethal form, having tamed New Zealand 5-0 in the trans-Tasman country, earlier this year. Meanwhile, Australia had endured a competitive, yet tough outing in England, having lost 1-2.

Squad composition
Taking into consideration the squad composition, there is a contrasting difference for both sides.
Injury concerns
For the visitors, there is barely any injury concern. Nonetheless, for the hosts, Warner has been ruled out, thereby being supplanted by wicketkeeper-batsman Matthew Wade. However, all-rounder Marcus Stoinis has been struggling with a side strain, as Moises Henriques replaced him during the ODIs. It would be interesting to see if he is back for the T20Is on Friday.

Head-to-head
As for their head-on clashes, India have traditionally been ahead. In 20 T20Is, India have won 11, while Australia have won eight, with a tie ending in no result. In Australia, off nine games, India have won five, while Australia have won just three. Also, this would be their first T20I clash in Canberra.
