Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has become an integral part of Team India of late owing to his prolific batting abilities across formats. As a result, he is also severely impacting the Indian Premier League (IPL), leading Delhi Capitals (DC).
On Monday, he is celebrating his 24th birthday. On this particular day, we look at the five records he has attained to date in professional cricket.
Fastest Indian wicketkeeper to score 1k Test runs
While Pant idolised former Indian skipper, MS Dhoni, emulating him, he became the fastest Indian wicketkeeper in the longest format to score 1,000 runs. He did so in 27 innings, five innings lesser than Dhoni.
First Indian to begin Test career by hitting a six
In one of the unique highlights of his Test career, Pant made his Test debut against England at Trent Bridge in 2018. As he made his debut, he faced spinner Adil Rashid, while in the second ball that he faced, he got his Test career off the mark through a six, thus becoming the first Indian to do so.
Most dismissals in a Test
During the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia in 2018-19, Pant was involved in 11 dismissals. He joined RC Russell and AB de Villiers to register the most dismissals in a single Test. As he claimed 11 catches, it was also the record of most catches in a Test.

During IPL 2018, playing for Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals), Pant scored 128 against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), making him the highest-scoring Indian in an IPL match before being KL Rahul (132) of Punjab Kings (PBKS).
Second-yougest Indian IPL centurion
As Pant hit the century against SRH, he became the second-youngest Indian centurion in the tournament at the age of 20. At the same time, Manish Pandey holds the record for being the youngest, having done so in IPL 2009 for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
