synopsis

Pro wrestling is dangerous enough, but some WWE stars took it too far. From Gulak to Kevin Owens, here are five wrestlers who were accused of deliberately trying to injure their opponents!

Wrestling may be scripted, but the risks are real, and not all wrestlers play by the rules. Over the years, some WWE superstars have developed reputations for being reckless or outright dangerous inside the ring. Whether it was repeated carelessness or outright malice, these five wrestlers have been accused of deliberately trying to hurt their opponents.

#5 Gulak

The former WWE wrestler reportedly had a reputation for wanting to injure wrestlers. He made sure in the matches to land his opponents on the head. In one NXT Level Up match against Dante Chen in 2023, Gulak threw his opponent head-first with force. NXT head Shawn Michaels didn't like it and warned the wrestler for such behavior.

#4 Ahmed Johnson

Ahmed Johnson had a bad reputation for acting recklessly in the ring. In a 90’s match in the WWE, Johnson hit Ron Simmons so hard with a trash can that Simmons’ liver was permanently damaged. Many wrestlers came out and spoke about Ahmed Johnson’s lack of empathy in the ring.

#3 Umaga

Umaga, in a feud with Jacka** crew, couldn't hold on to his anger. The Samoan wrestler went out of his way and deliberately tried to hurt the team members. The feud was going to continue in a wrestle mania event but was later canceled due to the unethical pursuit of Umaga.

#2 Andre the Giant

Andre the Giant is a WWE legend due to his performances in the 80’s. However, the wrestler didn't have the best reputation in the locker room. In one match against Warrior, Andre went off the script and kicked Warrior with force. Warrior, unaware of the situation, was in pain, but it was a miracle that the wrestler didn't get seriously injured.

#1 Kevin Owens

The Canadian wrestler keeps exercising the pile driver move on his opponents despite the major risks involved. Kevin Owens has a reputation as a character to be reckless, but even the WWE management has failed to completely ban the finishing move. Pile Driver involves splashing the opponent awkwardly with the neck and head section in the landing zone.
