WWE has been the face of professional wrestling for years, but many fans are growing frustrated. Here are five key reasons why interest in the company is fading.

WWE: For decades, the pro wrestling company has been the pinnacle of professional wrestling, gathering the attention of millions worldwide. While WWE continues to dominate the industry, a sense of disappointment is creeping into its loyal fanbase. Here’s a look at five major reasons why fans are losing faith and interest in the company.

#5 Overreliance on part-timers

For years, WWE has leaned on legendary part-time superstars to draw ratings, but in 2025, this approach is wearing thin. Fans were excited about fresh matchups, yet WWE went to its old habits by bringing back names like The Rock and John Cena for major storylines. While nostalgia sells, it has come at the cost of full-time wrestlers who have been grinding all year.

#4 Predictable Match Finishes

One of the biggest factors keeping WWE exciting has always been its unpredictability. However, in recent years, match outcomes have become easier to predict, making big events feel less interesting.

For instance, in high-profile matches like Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes or Becky Lynch vs. Rhea Ripley, the winners have often been leaked in advance. Fans no longer feel the adrenaline rush of an upset victory, and as a result, the excitement surrounding major pay-per-views has fallen.

#3 Constant Firings

WWE has recently been firing wrestlers left, right, and center. Many superstars on the roster were shocked to witness the sacking of Sonia Deville. WWE management kept the female wrestler in the limelight for quite some years, indicating that they are banking on her for the future. However, such uncertainties revolving around the status of stars not only affects morale of the locker room but also the loyal fanbase.

#2 This year's main event bookings

Royal Rumble creates precedence for the main season of the WWE year, running to the Wrestlemania. However, fans were dealt with major disappointment after the bookings for the April mega event started occurring. Jey Uso's Royal Rumble 2025 win didn't appeal enough to the loyal wrestling fan base.

Moreover, to add fuel to the wound, Charlotte Flair appeared out of nowhere and won the Rumble match. The WWE management, including Triple H was criticised on social media for the poor show. If things continue this way, fans are going to be less patient than they currently are.

#1 Inconsistent Storylines

The year started well for WWE with the RAW debut on Netflix. Many storylines were teased with Wrestle Mania months away. This got fans excited. The Rock was teased to get in a feud with Roman Reigns, while Seth Rollins and CM Punk were to be carded in a Wrestlemania match. However, reports suggest that the whole plan has been scrapped, and as of now, only, Jey Uso vs Gunther and Tiffany Stratton vs Charlotte Flair are confirmed.
