The major casting changes have taken place in the Emmy Award-winning series 'The Pitt' as the series heads towards the third season. According to Variety, actress Ayesha Harris, who plays senior night shift resident Dr. Parker Ellis, has been promoted to series regular going into the show's third season. In addition, Supriya Ganesh, who has played senior resident Dr. Samira Mohan since Season 1, will depart the show after Season 2.

The exit of Ganesh is the demand of the story, as reported by Variety. Given that the story is based on the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Centre, a teaching hospital in which it is normal for the residents to come in and out. Dr. Mohan has also spent part of Season 2 trying to determine what the next phase of her career will be once her residency ends, reported Variety.
