Salman Khan's throwback video of questioning Karan Johar’s unmarried status at award show goes viral (WATCH)

There was a time in Bollywood when celebrities would speak on national television frequently and without thinking. Before becoming the victims of cancel culture and relentless trolling on social media, they never held back from expressing their opinions when speaking to the media or interacting with others at award presentations or talk programmes. Well, now it seems like a distant dream. Social media definitely has changed the game altogether, but here's a throwback to one such video from our past. A netizen recently posted a video on social media with Salman Khan and Karan Johar engaging in sexually suggestive conversation in an old film from an awards presentation.

A Redditor took to the social media platform and shared the video, captioning it, "It took me ten years to realize that Karan was talking about taking it in the bum."  When Salman asks the director why he is still single, Karan cracks a joke that gets him both chuckling. The other celebs at the show laugh when an agitated KJo admits that he is still technically a virgin. When Salman requests an explanation of what "technically" means, Karan responds, "Backstage bataunga, pun intended."

Well, of course, fans and followers were quick to respond. The video garnered mixed reactions. While some have expressed remorse that nowadays celebrities have become very diplomatic, others have called the banter 'disgusting'. 

A user commented, "Salman is too hetero even to get that joke." Another said, "Honestly, I hate how Bollywood takes a perverse joy in displaying this game of 'expose the queer'. And how Kjo himself endorses this. He has so much internalized homophobia to work through. Wtf is so funny about gay sex??"

Professional front: Salman Khan is currently basking in the success of his action-packed family comedy Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan on the professional front. Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, starring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh, marks Karan Johar's return to the director's chair.
