Saiju Kurup's latest film, 'Bharathanatyam 2: Mohiniyattam', directed by Krishnadas Murali, is a certified hit with audiences. What makes this success extra special is the history of its prequel. It's not new for a sequel to become a hit in Malayalam cinema after the first part failed. But in this case, the first film, 'Bharathanatyam', had shows cancelled because no one turned up. Now, 'Bharathanatyam 2: Mohiniyattam' is running to houseful shows, making its success doubly sweet. The film has already raked in around ₹40 crore in global collections.
