Yo Yo Honey Singh and Badshah are in controversy after Volume 1 faced legal trouble, with the Delhi High Court ordering its removal from platforms.
A controversy has erupted around Volume 1, a track by Yo Yo Honey Singh and Badshah. The song, originally released nearly two decades ago, has returned to the spotlight after a petition was filed in the Delhi High Court seeking its removal over alleged vulgar content.

Petition and Court’s Strong Stand
The plea was filed by Hindu Shakti Dal, raising concerns about the song’s explicit lyrics and portrayal of women. Taking a strict stance, the Delhi High Court ordered the immediate removal of the song from all social media and streaming platforms.
Advocate Rupali Panwar revealed that the court found the content highly objectionable. She stated that the bench even refrained from mentioning the song’s full name in its order, calling it vulgar and obscene. According to the court, such content goes against the dignity and interests of women.
Removal from Platforms Underway
Following the order, steps have been initiated to remove the song from platforms like YouTube, Facebook, and Spotify. However, authorities are also identifying additional URLs, especially on Instagram, where the track continues to circulate widely.
The legal team has been granted time to locate all instances of the song online to ensure its complete removal from digital platforms.
Notice Issued to Singers
Meanwhile, notices have been sent to both Yo Yo Honey Singh and Badshah regarding the matter. The court is expected to hear the case next on May 7, 2026.
Advocate Rupali Panwar expressed hope that both artists will appear before the court during the next hearing. The case has reignited debates around artistic freedom, censorship, and the responsibility of content creators in today’s digital age.
