It took two teenagers some irrational thinking, need for some fast cash and borrowing a plot from a popular crime show to commit a heinous crime. Son of a Mumbai-based trader, Bhavesh, went missing on May 5 from his native village Hadecha in Sanchore area. The incident came to light when his sister called him from Mumbai, and the call was answered by an unidentified person who demanded a ransom of Rs 5 lakh. The family was ready to give the ransom but the confused and scared abducters decided to kill Bhavesh instead.

The abductor along with his friend brutally murdered Bhavesh and buried his body in a farmland. It was almost a month later that the police found dogs preying on the decomposed body.

The police caught Bhavesh’s teenaged neighbours Narendra Singha and Mukesh Mochi. The boys had followed the sequences in an episode of their favourite TV serial 'Crime Patrol' to commit the act.
