Former Indian skipper and legend MS Dhoni is gearing up to return to the cricket field. While it won't be in Team India's blue colours, but the famous yellow, for his Indian Premier League franchise, Chennai Super Kings.

The upcoming 2021 edition of the IPL, the 14th edition, would again see Dhoni lead CSK for the record 12th time. Having been leading the side since the tournament's inception in 2008, he is a veteran in the competition and is the longest-reigning skipper for the side.

The IPL 2021 is likely to be held between April-May. Meanwhile, the preparations and build-up for the same are already underway. While the mini-auction was held last month, the preparatory camps are also set to get underway in the coming days.

In the same light, Dhoni arrived in Chennai on Wednesday night. He was flanked by security as paparazzi got his glimpse, along with some fans. As he arrived at the team hotel, he was given a grand reception and welcomed by the hotel staff.

Speaking on the camp, Dhoni told PTI, "Yeah...the camp is likely to start from March 9. Whoever is available would take part in the training sessions. The players will undergo five-day quarantine before they start training. Also, they will have to return three negative tests..."

Dhoni is to remain in a five-day quarantine during this phase. Meanwhile, his teammate Ambati Rayudu, too, arrived on Wednesday. CSK will have a task at hand after a poor show last season, as the side failed to qualify for the playoffs for the first time in IPL history, besides finishing seventh.
