Kuldeep Yadav proved his worth for the Indian cricket team yet again after changing the game with two crucial dismissals against New Zealand. Though he initially went expensive in his first spell but he made a strong comeback later.

India's Kuldeep Yadav produced a fine performance against New Zealand after starting the ODI World Cup 2023 match on the back foot. The spinner went for runs in his first spell as Daryl Mitchell and Rachin Ravindra decided to attack him.

The other Indian bowlers were also getting attacked by the Kiwi duos but Daryl Mitchell struck three sixes in a row to unsettle Kuldeep Yadav. In the brilliance of the Kanpur-based cricketer, he kept going with the same approach against Daryl Mitchell and other Kiwi players.

In his second spell, Kuldeep Yadav dismissed Tom Latham and Glenn Phillips which took the momentum away from the New Zealand team. He also almost dismissed Daryl Mitchell if it wasn't for Jasprit Bumrah who dropped a regulation catch in the deep.

Kuldeep Yadav finished with the figures of 2/73 in 10 overs showcasing incredible resilience. The form of Kuldeep Yadav has massively improvised after his long injury spell. After his comeback, Kuldeep Yadav has looked like a rejuvenated version of himself especially in ODI cricket.

Former selector Sarandeep Singh said, "He can't perform in every game. I would say it is a good thing that it happened against New Zealand, he will be better prepared for the next game. And he did bounce back to take those two wickets, else we were looking at a 300-plus total.

His second spell made the difference yesterday. He is the biggest match-winner for India in this competition. The only way to stop runs on these tracks is by taking wickets. He has been the reason why teams have not been able to score 350 against India."
