Double XL: Shikhar Dhawan all set for Bollywood debut; check out

Senior Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan looks set to start another innings in his professional life. Apart from cricket, he will also pursue a career in the entertainment industry. And it all begins with Bollywood. As per reports, he will be making a special appearance in the upcoming flick Double XL, a comedic drama starring Sonakshi Sinha and Huma Qureshi alongside Zaheer Iqbal and Mahat Raghavendra. It is a tale of a couple of plus-sized women who bid to pursue their life goals. Satramm Ramani directs the movie, and the focus will be on the challenges related to stereotypes of body weight.

According to Dhawan, after learning about the story, he arrived on board for a special appearance out of instinct. “As an athlete playing for the nation, life is always very hectic. One of my favourite pastimes is to watch good entertaining films. When this opportunity came to me, and I heard the story, it deeply impacted me. It is a lovely message for the whole society, and I hope many young girls and boys will keep pursuing their dreams no matter what,” he said in a statement.

Earlier, Huma had shared the movie’s official poster on her social media handles and captioned, “When Rajshri from Meerut and Saira from Delhi found each other, it was time for double trouble. Be prepared for double the fun. Double the excitement. Double the entertainment. 😍 #Double XL in cinemas near you on November 4 2022. #baatmeinWAZANhai”. In another post, she shared her dancing and candid image with Dhawan, captioned, “Cat is out of the bag …. Finally”.

The flick has been billed as a “mad adventure that spans across New Delhi, Meerut and Mumbai”. Huma and Sonakshi play the roles of Rajshree Trivedi from Merrut and Saira Khanna from New Delhi, respectively, as they steer through the attractiveness criteria of the society. Gulshan Kumar, T-Series, Wakaoo Films & Mudassar Aziz present the will that will be released in theatres on November 4.
