According to reports, Brent crude futures fell by 98 cents to $83.74 a barrel. This comes amid United States President Joe Biden and heads of other world economies mounted pressure upon the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries to increase production and supply.

Oil marketing companies had in October revised the prices of petrol and diesel 24 times in October. The prices were revised twice in the first two days of the month. Petrol prices have become costlier by Rs 2.45 in the last seven days. At the same time, there has been an increase of Rs 2.10 per litre in diesel. In October last month, petrol became costlier by Rs 7.70 and diesel by Rs 8.20 in the national capital New Delhi.
Petrol has reached around Rs 110 per litre in 33 states of the country. Both petrol and diesel are the most expensive in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. In states like Uttar Pradesh, Daman and Diu, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Manipur, Nagaland, Puducherry, Telangana, Punjab, Sikkim, Odisha, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Tripura, Mizoram, Jharkhand, Goa, Assam, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal, Uttarakhand, Meghalaya, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, petrol has reached around Rs 110.
